Mumbai Indians have been a formidable unit in the Indian Premier League and now with a few days for the IPL auctions to commence, they are looking for some impressive names in their kitty in their bid to win their 4th IPL title. The three-time champions have always been a wise unit while picking a team and even this time around they will surely be going for some big names who can be handy in all departments of the game.
Here are 5 Probable players whom Mumbai Indians might pick in the IPL Auctions at a higher price
The South African speedster has been a sensation in his brief career so far and has impressed one and all with his pace, bounce and the ability to swing the ball both ways. In the longest format, he has been a revelation for the Proteas and recently rose to the numero uno status in the Latest ICC Rankings for Bowlers. There is a high possibility that Mumbai Indians will bid for him and are expected to pay a hefty sum for the speedster.
There is a risk to go for Stokes given he is still not clear to play cricket but the amount of balance he adds to the team is definitely worth the risk. He will undoubtedly fetch a huge price and given Mumbai’s managerial skills they might well be tempted to go for the experienced all-rounder. He can clear any boundaries on a consistent basis and can give his skipper the much needed four overs effectively.
Rashid Khan
The Afghanistan leg-spinner will fetch a huge sum, but Sunrisers Hyderabad might well be tempted to retain him via RTM. However, given his credentials and Mumbai’s purse they might be forced to go for a strong bid for the leggie who has tormented star-studded batting line-ups. He was a sensation for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous edition of the tournament and bamboozled many star batsmen during the tournament.
In several IPL tournaments before this season we have seen some uncapped players bagging huge prices, and even in this edition too we might expect the same. Nine U-19 players will go under the hammer in the IPL auctions, and among them, there is a fast bowling all-rounder Kamlesh Nagarkoti who will be up for bidding between the teams. He was recently seen clocking 146 147 km/hr and is a handy batsman lower down the order.
The Mumbai Indians will retain the left-arm all-rounder in all likelihood via RTM services. He has been a consistent performer for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL over the last couple of years and has given them stability in both departments along with his younger brother Hardik. He scores at a pretty brisk rate and boasts of a better strike rate than any other Mumbai Indians batsmen.
