The Chennai Super Kings are back in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and they have their captain cool MS Dhoni again on their side.

The Chennai based franchise retained Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the IPL auction in Bangalore. They have made an effort to retain their core team and has managed to put out the miracle, almost.

The Dhoni-led side had lifted the IPL on two occasions, and had maintained a record of reaching the playoffs each time in the initial eight years of the tournament. The fans love their cricketers, and the brand is seen as one of the most celebrated and fan-friendly around the globe.

However, the Lions were not too happy when the latest sensation Jofra Archer mocked Dhoni on Twitter. Cricket fans dig in hard on social media, and they always keep a record of things that took place in the past. The West Indies pacer learned it the hard way, as one of his old tweets which date back to 2014 had ‘Dhoni loooooool’ written on it.

Team CSK replied to Archer’s old tweet with ‘Jofra looove!’, setting an example in itself.

The Super Kings have been known for playing the game in the right spirit, and their team has once again shown the way forward.

Archer’s Rise in the Game

Archer’s rise in cricket took a major shot, as he finished as the highest wicket-taker in the 2017 County Championship Division Two. He bowled a double-wicket maiden on his Big Bash debut and sent down temperatures soaring.

“This is a player to get excited about,” former England spinner Graeme Swann on BT Sport.

“He’s young, he’s an all-rounder, he has a very repeatable action, and I know people on the south coast who are very excited about what he can bring to England cricket,” he added. The pacer will play for Rajasthan Royals in this year’s IPL.
