The defending champions of IPL and the most successful IPL team ever Mumbai Indians have decided to retain three players for the 11th season of the tournament. There was no doubt about the fact that the most successful skipper of the tournament Rohit Sharma would be retained and it was exactly what transpired.
The 2nd player in the list is none other than the best Indian all-rounder currently across all three formats of the game, Hardik Pandya who has matured immensely as a player over the years. He is arguably the most important player for Mumbai Indians especially due to his ability to contribute to all three departments of the game.
To back up his batting and bowling skills, he is also a sensational fielder and recently took one of the finest outfield catches during a limited overs series against the Kiwis. Last year Hardik faced only 160 deliveries and ended up smashing 20 hits over the fence.
The 3rd player to be retained for the 11th season of IPL is the No one bowler in international T20Is. Jasprit Bumrah has been the most consistent bowler for India in the shorter formats over the last couple of years and has some deadly Yorkers and slower deliveries up his sleeve. He is a sensational death ball bowler and has proved time and again that he has a brilliant future ahead of him.
Mumbai is the most consistent team in the tournament and courtesy their victory in the last season they have become the most successful team in the tournament going past the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. They have started off poorly on quite a few years, but as the tournament has progressed, they have lifted their game to a whole new level and have gone on to clinch a hat-trick of titles so far.
