Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) claimed a crucial victory on Friday (19th April) night when they beat the host side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens (Kolkata).

After KKR sent the visiting side to bat first, RCB scored 213/4 in 20 overs. In reply, KKR managed to score 203/5 (20 overs) as the visiting team won this match by ten runs.

ii) During this match, the RCB captain Virat Kohli scored 100 runs. It is the second highest individual scored by an RCB batsman against KKR. Chris Gayle is the record holder with 102* at Kolkata on 22nd April 2011.

iii) Virat Kohli scored his fifth IPL century. After Chris Gayle (six centuries), Virat Kohli is in the second position to score the most number of IPL centuries.

iv) Virat Kohli scored his fifth century in T20 career. Among the Indian cricketers, only Rohit Sharma (six centuries) has hit more T20 centuries than him.

i) The medium-pacer Andre Russell has taken 50 IPL wickets for KKR. After Sunil Narine (118 wickets) and Piyush Chawla (62 wickets), Andre Russell becomes the third bowler to take 50 or more IPL wickets for KKR.

ii) The left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav had the bowling figures of 4-0-59-1. It is the joint most expensive bowling figures by a spinner in IPL history. Once, Imran Tahir (Delhi Daredevils) had also the bowling figures of 4-0-59-0 against Mumbai Indians at Visakhapatnam on 15th May 2016.

iii) Nitish Rana and Andre Russell had the 118 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. Only once KKR had a higher partnership than this for the fifth wicket. On 8th May 2016, Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan had the unbroken 134 runs partnership for the fifth wicket against Gujarat Lions at Kolkata.
