The caravan of the Dream11 IPL 2020 rolls on and the 11th match will see Delhi Capitals lock horns with SunRisers Hyderabad in what is expected to be an extremely crucial game for the latter at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

SunRisers Hyderabad has looked a pale shadow of their former self in the two games that they have played thus far in this year’s IPL. They have lost both of their matches against RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders but more than the defeat, it is the decisions that have paved the way for those defeats which are even more baffling.

Their middle-order issues are well documented which is why it was baffling to fathom their thought process behind promoting Wriddhiman Saha ahead of the likes of Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi or even Priyam Garg in the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Saha could not get any sort of momentum in his innings, meandering his way to a painstaking 31-ball 30. The move sucked the momentum from SRH’s innings eventually paving way for them to score an underwhelming 142 despite having lost 4 wickets.

Apart from the middle-order woes, SRH’s bowling unit is also a cause of concern. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bowled well but he is yet to pick up wickets this season while the likes of T Natarajan, Khaleel Ahmed, and Sandeep Sharma have been underwhelming. SunRisers Hyderabad has a tally lanky fast bowler in the form of Billy Stanlake in their squad. The presence of Stanlake will give a much-needed variety to the fast bowling unit but that would also mean dropping Mohammad Nabi from the playing XI. Will the SRH team-management take that chance considering Nabi can also contribute with the bat down the order? We”’ have to wait and see.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, haven’t put a foot wrong in the tournament thus far. When their top-order hasn’t fired, their lower middle-order have pulled them out of the rut, like it happened in the first game against KXIP. The second match saw the likes of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan set an ideal platform in the first 10 overs, paving way for them to score an eventual match-winning total.

The only thing that Delhi Capitals can work on is being flexible in their batting-order as per the situation of the game, something we didn’t see in the last game as Shreyas Iyer came ahead of the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Marcus Stoinis, despite them getting off to a rollicking start. DC’s bowling-unit has been absolutely brilliant thus far. Despite losing the likes of Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin due to injury, the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Amit Mishra, and Axar Patel have been fantastic in the last two games, something the Capitals thinktank will hope remains the case against SRH.
