SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will host Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the IPL 2020 clash at the Dubai International Cricket stadium on Thursday. SRH are currently sixth in the IPL 2020 points table with two wins from their last five matches while KXIP are currently seated at the bottom of the table.

It will be an opportunity for the David Warner-led side to grab a win and remain in contention for the playoffs. The fiery pair of Warner and Jonny Bairstow has not clicked yet to the best of their potential. Manish Pandey looked in fine touch in the previous game and will be looking to continue in the same form. The ouster of premier India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the side will be a major concern. Sandeep Sharma and T Natarajan will have to play key role for the side in their absence.

KXIP openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have started well individually for their side but their performances have not reflected on the team. Despite their brilliance with the bat KXIP sit at the bottom of the table. It will be important for big names like Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell to step up to the situation. Mohammed Shami will be the key in the bowling department but he will need support from the rest of the bowlers.

The major concern playing in the UAE will be heat. A lot of foreign players are not habituated to playing in such conditions. However, local Indian players might tackle the heat as they have played under such conditions in the sub-continent.

The weather on the match day is predicted to remain around 31 to 33 degree celsius. As the day, progresses, the temperature might give slight relief to the players who are in for an evening start with the match.

Toss also becomes a major concern in the IPL 2020 due to this situation even though in the shortest format it doesn’t plays a big role. Humidity during the latter part of the match makes it difficult for the bowlers to grip the ball. The season has so far seen that the team’s batting first have won most number of matches.
