Rajasthan Royals leapt to the sixth position in the IPL 2020 points table as they beat Mumbai Indians comprehensively by eight wickets in Abu Dhabi. With the help of his second IPL hundred, Ben Stokes helped Rajasthan Royals ace the chase of 195 with more than an over to spare. It helped Rajasthan Royals to keep their playoff hopes marginally alive in IPL 2020.

Mumbai Indians did not slow down despite losing Quinton De Kock in the first over to Jofra Archer. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan motored along well with a stand of 83. Nevertheless, the Royals’ bowlers hit back with three quick wickets. However, Hardik Pandya’s knock of 60 from 21 deliveries seemed to have dismantled the Royals’ hopes. Pandya hammered seven sixes in his stunning onslaught.

Robin Uthappa once again came out with Ben Stokes even as experts cried out for Jos Buttler to partner the former. Ben Stokes, who came out with a clear plan, punished the poor deliveries and picked his spots beautifully despite Uthappa and Steve Smith perishing. Stokes reached his hundred with a six while Sanju Samson finished with 54. Their unbroken stand was worth 152, leading to a crushing victory.
