IPL 2022 Final, GT Vs RR: Watch - Hardik Pandya Gets His Third Wicket Of The IPL 2022 Final; Gets Shimron Hetmyer Caught And Bowled

Hardik Pandya made a huge impact in the IPL 2022 final between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 29, 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The GT captain led from the front with the ball after they were asked to field.

RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss for the second consecutive time and decided to bat first in the IPL 2022 final. Rajasthan Royals went in unchanged, but Gujarat Titans made one change bringing in New Zealand speed merchant Lockie Ferguson for West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph.

The RR team started off cautiously before Yashasvi Jaiswal got stuck into Mohammad Shami a bit. He batted aggressively and scored 22 runs in 16 balls with 2 sixes and 1 four. Sanju Samson fell in the big match for 14 runs.

Two of the first three wickets fell to Hardik Pandya, who had a good time with the ball. He removed Samson first and then hurt RR the most when he dismissed Jos Buttler for 39 runs in which he hit 5 fours.

GT vice-captain Rashid Khan had finished off an important spell with 1/18 run in his four overs, while Lockie Ferguson unleashed some terrifying fastballs clocking in at 157.2 kph, the fastest ball in the tournament.

But Hardik Pandya continued his then struck for the third time in his final over. It was the last ball of his 4th over when he bowled an innocuous length ball on leg stump to Shimron Hetmyer, who failed to gauze the speed of the ball which was slower than Pandya’s regular one, and ended up hitting it back to the GT captain, who ran off celebrating towards the leg umpire, and included him as well in the celebration.
