Mumbai Indians [MI] have upstaged Delhi Capitals from the numero-uno spot of the IPL 2020 points table after they registered a commanding 57-run win over Rajasthan Royals [RR] in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The defending champions have now registered three back-to-back victories and have taken their tally to eight points in the table.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have now suffered three consecutive defeats and the story of this loss was completely similar to their two last two games as the top-order once again failed to turn up during their run-chase of 194.

Trent Boult dismissed both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson for ducks while Jasprit Bumrah claimed skipper Steve Smith to leave RR reeling at 3-12. Jos Buttler staged some sort of a recovery with a whirlwind 70 but post his dismissal- courtesy a brilliant catch by Kieron Pollard at wide long-off- Jasprit Bumrah [4-20] just ran through the lower-middle-order to ensure that the Royals were eventually dismissed for 136.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant knock of 79* (off 47 balls) paved the way for Mumbai Indians to post 4-193 in 20 overs

Suryakumar Yadav came in to bat at the fall of Quinton de Kock’s wicket and what followed next was the batting masterclass as he flicked, pulled, dabbed, drove, and scooped his way to a brilliant 47-ball 79.

Yadav’s ensured that Mumbai Indians recovered brilliantly following a mid-inning ruddle that saw the defending champions lose three quick wickets.

Following today’s 57-run-defeat, Rajasthan Royals have slipped to the 7th spot in the points table while CSK have moved to the fifth position.
