England is not expected to make much of the changes on the New Zealand tour when it comes to the two-match Test series, as top-order batsmen in the form of James Vince and Mark Stoneman are highly likely going to maintain their spot for the all-important series after drawing the criticism.

Here’s it’s important to figure out that majority of England’s players have failed to contribute in a nutshell on the Australian soil which included all-rounder Moeen Ali, who perished for the seventh time on the bowling of off-spinner Nathan Lyon.

The squad is expected to be announced on January 10 (Wednesday), which would be further interesting on the part of both the batters who would be hoping against hope to impress the selection before return to home for the grueling summer season.

Despite being handed over a humiliating 4-0 defeat in the just-completed five-match Magellan Ashes Test series on the Australian soil.

The Three Lions side looked bleak in the Ashes series except for few individual performances, and the England Cricket Board (ECB) will be relying on most of the players who spent quality in Australia.

According to the British medium, the possibilities are that the side is looking forward to giving another go to the batsmen after dropping to the fifth spot in the latest ICC’s Test team rankings.

However, talking about the 18 combined Ashes innings, Vince and Stoneman registered two fifties each which further reflected how both have had struggled in between.

However, earlier the assistant coach for England Paul Farbrace remarked Vince has to score runs in a bid to remain under contention in the foreseeable future.

“There’s no doubt James Vince needs to score more runs if he’s going to play international cricket for England,” Farbrace told during presser in Sydney

It’s pertinent to point out that Vince and opening batsman Stoneman has had endured a tough tour which subsequently saw them averaging under 28 in their respective Test career.

“Of course 25 isn’t an average that any top-order batsman wants,” Farbrace added.

Moreover, Vince has been criticized for his timid approach which further saw him scoring 242 in nine innings and further failing to converting starts.

“He’s shown some decent starts, he’s showing some glimpses, and we all think ‘crikey, this could be the innings,” Farbrace maintained.

Moreover, the promising youngster Liam Livingstone, who is topping the chart back home, might be picked for the New Zealand tour alongside fast bowler Toby Roland-Jones.

The Test series will kick off on March 22 at Eden Park in Auckland and the second and final Test is scheduled between March 30 and April 3 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
