Jason Roy made his IPL debut back in 2017 where he represented the Gujarat Lions. Next year, he was picked by the Delhi Capitals. But a flurry of lackluster performances meant he did not get an extended rope.

In his 8-match IPL career, Jason Roy has managed just 179 runs at an average of 29 and a strike-rate of 133.58.

“I’ve been to Pakistan only once for PSL. I’ve been to India 3-4 times, BBL is completely different. I think as far as cricket experience goes, I am gonna go with IPL,” Delhi Capitals’ Jason Roy told in an interview with CricTracker.

After having missed out on the 2019 edition, Roy was once again picked by the Delhi Capitals for a sum of Rs 1.5 Crore in the 2020 auctions.

Roy would have resumed his Indian Premier League journey for his Delhi Capitals franchise this year but for the outbreak of the novel pandemic that is the coronavirus [COVID-19] that led to the postponement of the 13th edition for an indefinite period of time. With the Asia Cup T20 getting postponed till next year and ICC T20 World Cup set to go down the same route, a curtailed version of the IPL might take place between the September 26-November 08 window, zeroed in by the BCCI.
