Former India cricketer, Mohammad Kaif feels Jasprit Bumrah has the elements to become the Virat Kohli of India‘ bowling. Meanwhile, Bumrah has grabbed eyeballs first with his unique action, and then with his bowling skills. However, armed with an unusual, sling-arm action and natural pace, the peculiar release point of Bumrah’s deliveries makes it hard for batsmen to pick him.

However, the 37-year old Kaif feels India has a lot of fast bowling options heading into the 2019 World Cup. Meanwhile, Kaif applauds Bumrah, as he is playing as one of the backbones of bowling department in the Indian team.

“India has a lot of options in fast bowling now. Bumrah is doing really well, he can become the Virat Kohli of bowling.” Mohammed Kaif said.

Moreover, Mohammad Kaif further said Jasprit Bumrah has the quality of bowling outswingers, as he is capable of bowling well in the first spell and the death overs as well. However, Bumrah has achieved a lot within a short span of time playing for India.

“He has got everything now. I saw him recently, and he can bowl the outswinger also…I saw him at Trivandrum, and though he can bring the ball in, he can bowl the fast yorker, he has a slower one and now he has got the outswinger going. In such a short career he has achieved a lot and will be an asset in the coming days,” Mohammad Kaif added.

Meanwhile, the most significant moment on a cricket field for Mohammad Kaif was the final of the 2002 Natwest Trophy in Lord’s against England. Kaif along with Yuvraj Singh added some vital runs and partnered well after India lost its top order. It was a massive chase for the Indian cricket team at that time in ODIs.

“Young man from a small town in UP and getting a chance to win the game for India at Lord’s, it couldn’t get bigger,” Kaif concluded.
