Joe Root, who was dismissed on duck in the previous Test, has once again started the Third Test of the series also in a similar fashion. He was removed from the crease for a second-ball duck by Josh Hazlewood, who made Joe Root his bunny in the recent past.

Joe Root was dismissed for a second-ball duck.

After Australia was dismissed for 179 on the first day of the second Test, England would have hoped their top-order will put them in a decent position but early wickets meant they were chasing the game once again. After opener Jason Roy departed for 9, Root too followed suit as he was dismissed for a second-ball duck by Hazlewood.

In total, Josh Hazlewood has bagged the wicket of Joe Root for six times. It is the most for any bowler to dismiss Joe Root that many times. The Australian quick has got the quality with him to trouble the batsman when it is moving in the air. Thankfully, he got the assistance at Headingley, which is doing wonders for Australia.

Apart from that, he registered yet another unwanted record to him. It is only for the fourth time that an England skipper was out for a duck in the Ashes Trophy. The previous time it came was way back 42 years ago when Mike Brearley was dismissed for a golden duck in 1977.

Coming to the progress of the game, initially, it was Jofra Archer, who displayed fantastic skills for England to bundle out England for 174 runs on the board. However, Australians have shown their class in the second innings, as they dismissed 6 England batsmen for just 54 runs on the board at the end of the first session on Day 2.
