Football giants Manchester United are the most successful club in the English football history. Manchester United have bagged 20 Premier League titles since inception before the club saw a downward slope in the post Alex Ferguson-era. However, English cricketer Jos Buttler, who plied has his trade for Mumbai Indians in the IPL have likened the franchise to the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer-managed side.
Buttler played for Mumbai Indians between 2016-17 but it was enough for him to understand the fan support of the franchise. He is currently with Jaipur-based Rajasthan Royals since 2018 and has established himself as a key player of the franchise. In the previous edition, Buttler scored over 300 runs for the franchise at an average of 38.87.

Jos Buttler said he loved his time in Mumbai as much as he loves playing for Rajasthan. He added that Mumbai Indians, with the following and support, are the Manchester United of the lucrative tournament.
“I loved my time with Mumbai as well and I’ve loved Rajasthan equally as much, two different franchises. Mumbai Indians are sort of the Manchester United of the IPL, such a massive team with such a massive following,” Jos Buttler said in a BBC podcast.

Buttler is yet to resume individual training for England as many of his teammates has already resumed. He has played 45 matches in the IPL, scoring 1386 runs at an average of 35.53, with nine half-centuries to his name.
