Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) fast bowler Siddarth Kaul revealed Hyderabad-based outfit skipper Kane Williamson during season eleven predicted the latter will soon get the India call-up.

So, Kaul received his maiden call in the Indian squad, Williamson’s words turned out to be true in that case.

Kaul gave complete credit to his franchise’s captain for backing him to the hilt. Williamson has put his weight behind Kaul and thus the fast bowler has come up good with the ball apart from a couple of failures.

The Punjab speedster scalped 21 wickets in the 17 matches in the recently-concluded IPL which was the joint second highest in the tournament alongside leg-spin sensation Rashid Khan. Thus, his good performance in the domestic professional Twenty20 league earned him a place in the Indian team.

Williamson has added to Kaul’s confidence bag:

Kaul said that Williamson has helped him grow in confidence.

“He has always been extremely positive about me. He told me last season which was my first with him and the Sunrisers Hyderabad that I can play for India. You can perform well in any circuit. He gave me enough confidence and now when he was the captain, he gave me my chance. When your captain supports you, you feel at ease. As per the situation demanded, he asked me to bowl the important overs,” Kaul said while talking to CricXtasy.

Kaul went on to add that he is not overthinking on his game. The fast bowler added that he wants to remain focused on the job at hand. The right-handed pacer wants to make the most of his opportunities.

Kaul added, “After an intense IPL, I had some rest for a couple of days. I resumed training almost a week back and I am not thinking whether I will get to play or not. Thus, I am just focused on giving my 100 per cent when I get to play. I have done my homework about where to bowl and where not. I am not ruining my skills by overworking or overthinking”.

Siddharth went on to add that it is a great experience to bowl in tandem with Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Sunrisers.

Furthermore, the fast bowler added that he learned his lessons from Ashish Nehram who also played for the Orange Army in the past.

The 27-year old pacer said, “Bhuvi is great to be with. We know each other well. He is too experienced and it boosts your self-belief and performance as well. It feels positive when he says small things. Also, I learnt a lot from Ashish Nehra in the SRH camp over the past two years. He was great to work with”.

Consequently, Kaul has impressed with his pace and bounce. Moreover, the fast bowler also made use of his knuckleball with guile.

Thus, Siddarth Kaul would aim for his maiden opportunity in the Indian set-up. Kaul will like to impress with his skills to leave a mark if he is given his chances in the following series.
