New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has revealed the name of the quickest bowler he has faced in his career so far. The Sunrisers Hyderabad star revealed the answer while he was interacting with the fans on Twitter. The right-handed batsman is still in quarantine after landing in UAE last week.
And to keep himself engaged on Wednesday, he decided to held a question-answer session. The fans asked him a number of questions ranging from his career, cricket as well as personal life. One of the fans asked him to name the fastest bowler he has faced so far.
Over the years, the New Zealand star has faced the likes of Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada, Jasprit Bumrah, Dale Steyn and several other speedsters. Well, he has picked Steyn as the fastest he has faced so far. The right-handed batsman also revealed that the South Africa legend once left him with a broken box.
“It’s hard to tell. There is a lot of quick bowlers around. But I do remember a number of years ago facing Dale Steyn and he broke my box. So, that was a memorable experience.”

Kane Williamson was referring to the incident that took place during the 2013 Test series in New Zealand. One of Steyn’s deliveries had cracked Kane Williamson’s abdominal guard while leaving the batsman grimacing in pain. Steyn had later signed the abdominal guard for the New Zealand batsman who has kept it as a memento.
Both Steyn and Williamson are currently gearing up for the upcoming edition of the IPL. The thirteenth edition of the tournament is scheduled to get underway on September 19 with a match between last year’s finalists Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
Steyn will be plying his trade for Royal Challengers Bangalore while Williamson will turn up for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
