KL Rahul blamed poor batting performance from KXIP for their nine wickets loss against CSK which saw them being knocked out of the IPL 2020 playoffs race. Rahul batted exceptionally well to hold the orange cap for most runs scorer in the IPL 2020 but it did not quite help his team.
Asked to bat, KXIP could manage only 153/6 on board with KL Rahul and Manyank Agarwal playing cameo knocks while Deepak Hooda anchoring their innings with a quick-fire half-century. CSK effortlessly chased down the target with Ruturaj Gaikwad starring with the bat as he hit 62 runs off 49 balls.

The bowling and batting wasn’t coming together in the first half: KL Rahul
Rahul said that his side did not bat well in a big pressure match. He expected his team to post a total of 190 runs but they failed to do so. The opening batsman also said that their bowling was patchy in the first half but there is a lot of positives that can be taken from the match.
“It is as simple as that. We didn’t bat really well. Big pressure game, we expected 180-190. We couldn’t soak in the pressure. We didn’t have the results going our way in the first half. The team still felt like we were playing good cricket. We were patchy. The bowling and batting wasn’t coming together in the first half, proud that we did it in the second half,” KL Rahul said in the post match interview.
KXIP finished the IPL 2020 campaign with six wins and eight losses from 14 matches.
