The story of Chennai Super Kings is undoubtedly a script for Bollywood Film Industry that can collect a huge sum at the box office. They got the best players in their side and obviously, got a legendary figure in the name of MS Dhoni leading the troop. Speaking of the same, the cricketer-turned-analyst Sanjay Manrekar stated that MS Dhoni’s leadership is going to make a massive difference in the upcoming edition of IPL.

Chennai Super Kings has been one of the most dominant teams in the IPL. The Dhoni-led side won the trophy thrice in 2010, 2011 and 2018 while making it to the knockouts in all nine seasons that they have been part of the competition. They will once again enter the upcoming edition of the tournament under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Manjrekar stated that Chennai Super Kings are always a team, who performs brilliantly in the tournament compared to the rest. Further, he believes that the forthcoming edition will be a massive tournament for CSK if MS Dhoni comes good with the bat, like in the previous version.

Further, Sanjay Manjrekar feels picking a reliable Indian middle-order batsman will be a good move for CSK in the auction. With the regular batsmen ageing while Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu failing to find the form, Chennai Super Kings need MS Dhoni to perform at any cost to make things fall in place in IPL 2020.
“CSK have always had senior players in their squad, they have Faf Du Plessis and Shane Watson at the top, they have got players like Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina at the middle, so a backup middle-order batsman would be a good idea for them,” Manjrekar said while speaking at Star Sports show Game plan.
“Dhoni loves to take these chances with ageing players, his leadership eventually makes a difference, and if he can replicate last season’s performance, it would be great for the team,” he added.

Going into the IPL 2020 auction, Chennai Super Kings have left with the purse of INR 14.5 Crores. Surprisingly, they released young Sam Billings alongside the likes of David Willey and Mohit Sharma. If the reports are to believe, Chennai Super Kings are eyeing to buy Tom Banton in the upcoming Auction.
