The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the appointment of its Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) on Friday. The Indian cricket board named Madan Lal, Rudra Pratap Singh and Sulakshana Naik in the three-member committee. The term of appointment will be for one year.

The first CAC was appointed in 2015 and included Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly. After the conflict clause came into place, all the three resigned from the committee. They had appointed Anil Kumble as head coach in 2016 before naming Ravi Shastri as the head coach in 2017.

Last year, an interim panel was appointed comprising Kapil Dev, Shantha Rangaswamy and Anshuman Gaekwad. The Kapil Dev-led panel was picked for selecting the senior men’s team coach after the World Cup in 2019. The three-member panel reappointed Ravi Shastri as the head coach after interviewing 5 shortlisted candidates including Lalchand Rajput, Robin Singh, Mike Hesson, Tom Moody, and Shastri.

The trio also picked WV Raman as the head coach of the senior women’s cricket team last year. However, Kapil, Gaekwad, and Rangaswamy quit their roles as CAC members after Conflict of Interest claims were raised against them.

RP Singh played for India in 14 Tests, 58 ODIs and 10 T20Is and was a part of the Indian squad that won the World T20 in South Africa in 2007. Naik played two Tests, 46 ODIs and 31 T20Is for India in a career spanning 11 years.
