The spirit in the Delhi Capitals’ camp is high at the moment because of the way they have played in the tournament so far. With 6 wins from the first eight games, Delhi Capitals are looking set to make it to the playoffs. And the fine performance on the field has lifted the mood in the dressing room.

It was very much evident on Saturday when Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis hilariously joined hands to tease their head coach Ricky Ponting during the match against Chennai Super Kings. The commentators were interviewing the Delhi Capitals coach while his side was involved in a tense chase.

However, it did not stop Stoinis and Pant from trying to have some fun. Stoinis was the one who started it. As the cameras focused towards Ricky Ponting, the Australia allrounder, who was sitting just beside him, gave a smile. Pant, who was not playing in the match, soon came and stood behind Ricky Ponting.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was pretending as if he was all ears for Ricky Ponting’s comments. Stoinis then asked Pant to do something before the latter moved towards the left side of Ricky Ponting. The commentator, who was watching the drama unfold, soon told the Capitals coach to look behind and it did not take the latter long to realise what was going on as everyone burst into laughter.

As far as the match is concerned, CSK posted 179 for 4 after opting to bat first. Faf du Plessis top-scored with 58 while Shane Watson (36), Ambati Rayudu (45*) and Ravindra Jadeja (33*) also played handy knocks. In reply, Delhi were on 130 for 3 in the 16th over with Shikhar Dhawan and Stoinis in the middle.
