MI vs DC: Watch - Shardul Thakur Outfoxes Dewald Brevis With A Slower One, Gets Him To Inside Edge Onto Stumps

Shardul Thakur of Delhi Capitals (DC) clean up dangerous Mumbai Indians’ (MI) batter Dewald Brevis with a slower one as the two teams clashed at the Wankhede Stadium in the 69^th match of the IPL 2022 on May 21, 2022.

This match is a must-win for DC as a victory here will ensure them a place in the IPL 2022 Playoffs where they will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the eliminator on Wednesday. However, if MI won this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will go into the playoffs instead, with DC getting eliminated.

DC had to bat first after MI skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl. MI made two changes as Hrithik Shokeen and Dewald Brevis came into the XI; while DC made one change as Prithvi Shaw returned to the team as well.

Capitals did well scoring 159/7 in 20 overs with Prithvi Shaw making 24, Rishabh Pant making 39, while Rovman Powell top-scoring with 43 and Axar Patel contributed a valuable 19*. For MI, Jasprit Bumrah came to the party and got 3/23, while Ramandeep Singh took 2 wickets.

In reply, Rohit Sharma’s dismal IPL 2022 came to an end without a half-century, as he was dismissed for 2 runs. Ishan Kishan looked good for his 48 runs, until he skied one ball from Kuldeep Yadav which was caught by David Warner.

Dewald Brevis Shines Before Shardul Thakur Fooled Him With A Short One

Dewald Brevis playing after quite some time, looked like he had never gone away and made a sublime-looking 37 in 33 balls with 1 four and 3 brilliant sixes. He was looking set to take MI towards the victory charge, but then DC’s Shardul Thakur had the best of him.

On the 3^rd ball of the 15^th over, Shardul bowled a slower one at a full length, and Brevis in an effort to drive towards covers only managed to inside edge onto his stumps.
