The love-hate relationship between Michael Vaughan and Indian fans just refuses to die down. Every now and then, Vaughan risks the ire of the Indian fans because of his outspoken nature. Not the one to shy away, Vaughan has faced the heat from the fans a number of times for criticising the Indian players. However, one has rarely seen Vaughan losing his cool.

Vaughan has never shied away from giving it back to the fans but has never used any harsh words. However, the former England skipper lost his cool when one Indian fan criticised him. It all started when Vaughan took to Twitter to post a message for Kedar Jadhav. It was a sarcastic tweet from the ex-cricketer-turned-commentator as he wrote:

“Kedar Jadhav is my new favourite bowler …. !!”

And that post did not go down well with one Indian fan who re-tweeted it and slammed Michael Vaughan for the same, writing:

“Typical English ex-player-turned-expert. Even the best of them (Vaughan isn’t one of them) only follow non-England players when they play in England, and even if they’ve played there before, they react like they’re watching them for the first time, often with condescension.”

Michael Vaughan then shot back at the fan by calling him idiot, writing:

India, meanwhile, beat South Africa by six wickets in their World Cup-opener.  Asked to bowl first, India restricted South Africa to a modest 227 for 9 with Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal starring with the ball. Bumrah picked up two early wickets before Chahal ran through the middle-order and picked up four wickets.

In reply, India started poorly and lost Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli cheaply. However, Rohit Sharma remained till the end and scored an unbeaten century to take India home in the 48th over. The right-handed batsman was struggling at the start but soon found his rhythm and put India on top. He was well supported by the likes of KL Rahul and MS Dhoni before Hardik Pandya’s quickfire cameo ended the game.
