Australia are on an incredible match-winning spree at the moment. When they invited Pakistan to play two Tests, they came out on top much to the visitors’ annoyance as they managed to clinch both the matches with relative ease. The hosts toyed the visitors in the longest format of the game as they won by an innings and 5 runs in Brisbane Test.

After that, they followed it up with 48-run innings victory in The Adelaide Oval, registering a 2-0 clean sweep over the visitors. Australia are currently ranked behind India in the ICC Test Championship points table with as many as 216 points. Australia are currently playing Test series against New Zealand at home. They already took the first lead in the series as they won by 296 runs.

The second Test will be played on Boxing Day at the MCG. On the contrary, India are dominating ICC Test Championship and haven’t lost a single match so far. They outsmarted the likes of West Indies, South Africa and Bangladesh and accumulated as many as 360 points.

India and Australia are the best Test match teams in the world: Michael Vaughan

With no other top teams posing a threat to Australia in Aussie conditions, former England captain Michael Vaughan earlier said that only India have the tools to outsmart Australia. Michael Vaughan added that India and Australia are the two best Test match teams in the world without the shadow of any doubt.

“I think there are two teams — India and Australia, they are the best Test match teams in the world, without question. I think there is only one team that can come here and put Australia under pressure, that was 12 months ago, that they won here India,” he was quoted as saying by The Sydney Morning Herald.

When India won the Test series in Australia for the first time in 71 years, there was so Steve Smith, David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne in the line-up as they were handed a ban from the game. “There was no Smith, no Warner, no (Marnus) Labuschagne in the Australian ranks in that series, I think the series later on next year, when India arrive back here, hopefully, everyone will be fit.

That Indian attack has got the pace, it has also got the spin, the batting unit has got all the experience. I only see only one team at this stage that can compete with Australia here and that is India,” Vaughan added.
