Dhoni has inspired the Afghanistan gloveman.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Shahzad is an integral part of the Afghan team. The wicketkeeper-batsman has provided some quick starts to his national team in the recent times.
Shahzad recalled Dhoni’s brilliant knock against Sri Lanka in the final of Celkon Trophy in West Indies. 15 runs were required off the final over, and Dhoni was able to get India over the line.
Dhoni had once again calculated the bowlers he wanted to target. Thus, the combative batsman took on inexperienced Eranga in the last over of the final game.
Mohammad Shahzad said while talking to Cricbuzz, “Dhoni was batting and 15 runs were required off the final over. It was Ramzan time then as well. It was 3-4 minutes left for Iftari, the food was in front of me. At that time, whatever we ask to Allah is fulfilled. Dhoni was unfit for a couple of games earlier and was playing the final against Sri Lanka”.
Shahzad added he prayed to Allah that India should win this match.
Shahzad went on add, “I prayed to Allah that India should win this match and Dhoni finished off the match. So I had delayed my food for a while. So I can delay my sleep as well”.
Furthermore, Shahzad added Ajay Devgan and Shah Rukh Khan are his favourite Bollywood actors. Among the actresses, Shahzad is a big fan of Vidya Balan. Shahzad also likes Jacqueline Fernandes.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Shahzad will be seen in action in Afghanistan maiden Test match against India. The historic Test match will be played on June 14th in Bengaluru.
