At a time when Team India would have wanted only to focus on the upcoming semifinal against New Zealand, they might get distracted by Mohammed Shami’s recent antic. Months after his estranged wife Hasan Jahan had labelled allegations of extra-marital affairs on him, Shami has once again done something similar.

Last year, Shami was in sorts of trouble after his wife’s sensational revelations. Jahan alleged her husband was having extra-marital affairs with several women. She even claimed the pacer was physically assaulting and threatening her over a period of almost two years. The cricketer’s wife posted several screenshots on social media to back her claims. The pictures showed the chats Shami allegedly had with multiple women.

Shami had denied those allegations throughout and had also received the backing of BCCI. However, he is now looking set to land in more trouble after a woman claimed that Shami has been messaging her on Instagram. Sophia, which was the lady’s name on Twitter, posted a screenshot, showing Shami’s message.

“anyone wanna tell me why some random cricket player with 1.4m followers keeps messaging me,” wrote Sophia as she was clearly struggling to come to terms with the messages from Shami.

Well, the Indian team management would be hoping that the incident does not distract Shami or any other player at the moment. India will be taking on New Zealand in the semifinal on Tuesday. If they win, they will take on the winner of Australia vs England match in the final at Lord’s on Sunday.

Shami was rested for India’s last group game against Sri Lanka. However, he is likely to return to the playing eleven against New Zealand after impressing with the ball. He got a chance to play only after Bhuvneshwar Kumar was injured and impressed straightaway. He picked up four-wicket haul against Afghanistan and West Indies before picking up five against England.
