Throughout cricket’s long history, there have been many unbelievable matches and incidents on the field. Many avid cricket fans find it difficult to forget these matches, always reminiscing about the incredible past games.

When it comes to domestic games, international or world cups, cricket players have always been ready to deliver.

The traditional game of cricket is perfectly complemented by wagering on its outcome, so if you’re interested in betting on these exciting matches, this cricket betting guide may just be your ticket to an easy win.

Let’s take a look at some of the matches you’d wish you’d had the chance to bet on.

West Indies vs Australia

The 1975 World Cup final in England, between Australia and the West Indies, was a perfect match to bet on. It was their second meet after the West Indies defeated Australia in the group stage of the competition.

As is fitting for the first ICC’s World Cup final, the match didn’t lack in excitement and great play. The final started when WI struck for 291 runs, and Australia with 157. Australia’s Gary Gilmour did most of the bowling, with five wickets for his team. Australia had a pretty good run during the whole game.

However, things took a turn for the worse when five Australian batsmen were run out while trying to push for more runs. If Australia’s batsmen were less reckless, they could have taken an easy win. However, the West Indies took advantage of the situation and won the championship by 17 runs.

Australia vs South Africa

Another match played in England, this time at the World Cup in 1999. Australia has won a stage match against South Africa by five wickets. They met again in the semi-finals in Birmingham. Cricket bettors couldn’t have predicted that this match would be so exciting.

South Africa entered the match with confidence, and the result was almost sure — South Africa was to reach its first-ever finals. However, their nerves got the best of them.

Allan Donald, one of SA’s most successful pace bowlers, stayed in place when Lance Klusener tried for a run. The misunderstanding led to a run-out and a draw. When Donald finally started running, Fleming’s underarm throw was on its way to Adam Gilchrist’s hands, but it was too late.

Australia won by a hair and proceeded to the finals.

India vs Australia

It’s safe to say that Australia has played many exciting matches in cricket history. Even though they were part of this match, we are including it in our list primarily because of India.

India and Australia have had a fierce rivalry over the years, with Australia usually prevailing in the 20th century. In Test matches that occur over five days, Australia was sure to add a 17th consecutive win to their Test record.

What makes this 2001 match interesting is the fact that India failed to score enough runs in their first batting innings, so they had to take their second batting innings instantly. They were behind by 270 runs after that.

However, VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid, India’s top batsmen, took charge and made a stunning turnover on day four. It was only because of their incredible batting that India was able to take the lead with 315 runs.

Australia was unable to achieve 384 in 75 overs on the last day of the Test, and India won by 171 runs.
