Well, the selection of MS Dhoni back in the T20I format has created a stir in the Indian cricket circuit. Certain analysts felt that it wasn’t the great selection from the board while few feel it is much needed to give enough match practice to MS Dhoni. Meanwhile, the former legendary player Sunil Gavaskar has other ideas for MS Dhoni.
Sunil Gavaskar feels that Indian national cricket team should give a fitting farewell to MS Dhoni in the ICC World Cup 2019. He wants them to give enough recognition to all the great things achieved by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
MS Dhoni is a necessary – Sunil Gavaskar
Speaking of the Rishabh Pant, Sunil Gavaskar quoted that the youngster should not be depressed and perform in the shorter version of the game. He wants Pant to score exceedingly well in the T20I format to push for a place.

Besides that Sunil feels that Pant will give the required difference to the team. He also believes that Rishabh Pant has got the skills to make things happen for the team and also being a left-hander, India would benefit from it.
“If Rishab Pant does well and keeps his form, he can find a place for his batting. He is a left-handed batsman and that helps add variety to the batting line-up. So although Pant is not picked for the ODIs currently if he does exceedingly well in T20Is, he could come back,” he told India Today.

“Dhoni has the big match temperament. As a keeper, he is a big help to captain Kohli in terms of field placements and bowlers’ performance feedback. So he is necessary. And since the World Cup 2019 is going to be his last, he should be given the honour and recognition for all the services he has offered with a World Cup place,” he added.
Well, as Sunil Gavaskar said, MS Dhoni deserves a grand farewell when he leaves the game of cricket. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant would be eyeing to perform in order to be back in the side.
