Recently, Sunil Gavaskar quoted that BCCI should ask Dhoni and Shikhar Dhawan to play Ranji Trophy in the free time. He believes that it would keep them in touch with the game to make things happen right in their first game when they play for India again.

The Jharkhand Coach Rajiv Kumar was straight on point quoting that Mahendra Singh Dhoni Playing a Ranji game mean that an exciting budding cricketer making a way for him. Domestic cricketers will take every game to impress the selectors but if MS Dhoni plays the game, it is more like blocking a way for a youngster.

He also quoted that MS Dhoni doesn’t want that to happen because of his presence in the team. Further, he went on to reveal that Dhoni spends time with the core unit whenever he visits Ranchi. Rajiv Kumar believes that his short visit to the nets itself is a great boost for the side.

“Yes, there have been talks about this, but you also need to understand that him coming and joining the team means someone else misses out. Do you think MS would want to do that? Also, you have to understand that the youngsters in the team are trying to use every opportunity to impress and having Dhoni play the four-day format would be unfair. But he is always there to come and help the boys at training whenever he is in Ranchi,” Jharkhand Coach quoted.

“I think that is more than helpful as the kids look up to him and spending time with him can change their outlook and thought process,” he explained while speaking to Hindustan Times in an exclusive interview.

Well, as Rajiv Kumar said, the inclusion of MS Dhoni certainly mean a barricade for the budding cricketer on his way to achieving his goals. However, the analysts have got the point that MS Dhoni’s form is the real concern going into the ICC World Cup 2019.
