Veteran MS Dhoni has emerged as a father-figure, mentor and guide to many young Indian cricketers. But he treats everyone as a family and friend. Dhoni likes playing around with his teammates and often likes to have dinner with them. The 2011 World Cup winning-captain, moreover, did not like pressuring his players when he led the side.
Dhoni came from the cricketing backwaters of Ranchi and achieved much success as a player. He also grew up to be one of the most successful captains and achieved almost everything the ICC tournaments had to offer. All the success has made him one of the most influential person on the cricketing circuit but he was not the same when he was first introduced to the national team. However, he likes to remain as humble and calm, as one could be.
MS Dhoni is a brother to me, he’s family: Hardik Pandya

Hardik has also been a hair-dresser for Dhoni and often played paint-ball together. The all-rounder said, he does not looks at MS Dhoni like a captain, he is more of a brother, a family to him.
“He’s (MS Dhoni) a brother to me. For me, he’s family. I’ve got so close to him in the last few years. I was surprised that he was so open and friendly. I can now say anything to him and he will take it as a joke – that is the relationship I have with him now,” told Harsha Bhogle in a Cricbuzz interview when if MS Dhoni is like a captain to him.
