MS Dhoni To Remain Unavailable For The West Indies Series

Many fans rejoiced the return of former India skipper MS Dhoni in the nets but it was only shortlived as the cricketer is not likely to return to cricket anytime soon. A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official has confirmed that the illustrious cricketer will remain unavailable for the upcoming West Indies series.

Meanwhile, speculations rife that he will return to action soon after a video of MS Dhoni training surfaced on the internet. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman was spotted at a training session at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi. Dhoni was seen taking some throwdowns in the video which has now gone viral.

Soon after the video floated on the internet, fans started assuming that MS Dhoni might return to action during India’s next series against West Indies which starts December 6. The Men in Blues will play three T20s and as many ODIs against the team from the Caribbean Islands.

However, a top BCCI official has confirmed that Dhoni will continue to remain unavailable for the West Indies series.

“He is not available for the West Indies series,” a BCCI official said on Friday.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni made him unavailable from cricket since India’s ouster from the semifinals of the ICC World Cup. The cricketer from Ranchi had poor returns in the premier tournament in England and decide to take a sabbatical. During this period, the veteran cricketer worked with the Army in the month of August.

He also played an amateur golf tournament in the USA and took part in a charity football match. He recently started his training in Ranchi with Jharkhand’s U-23 team but is unlikely to return to action soon.
