Afghanistan mystery spinner, Mujeeb Ur Rahman became the first Test cricketer of the 21st century.

Thus, the 17-year old Afghanistan spinner wrote his name in the history books when he took the field against India in the ongoing Test match in Bengaluru. Rahman was born on 28 March 2001. Furthermore, Mujeeb become the sixth player since 1900 to make his first-class debut in a Test match.

Meanwhile, the other players who made their first-class debut in a Test match are as follows.

Graham Vivian (NZ) 1964-65, Ujesh Ranchod (Zim) 1992-93, Mashrafe Mortaza (Ban) 2001-02, Yasir Ali (Pak) 2003-04, Nazmul Hossain (Ban) 2004-05.

Meanwhile, Mujeeb has impressed with his bagful of tricks. In fact, the youngster had a successful Indian Premier League stint. The mystery spinner scalped 14 wickets in the 11 matches he played for the Kings XI Punjab.

He was roped in by the Punjab franchise for a whopping price of INR 4 crores. Thus, he was the worth the value player for KXIP.

Interestingly, Mujeeb has a plethora of variations under his belt. He had also represented Afghanistan in the Under-19 World Cup held in New Zealand.

Moreover, Mujeeb was successful in bamboozling the best batsmen in the recently concluded IPL. Even the best of players had their issues in picking the variations of the young spinner.
