Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi, has expressed his desire to see Imad Wasim as the future Pakistan captain. Meanwhile, Imad is the skipper of Karachi Kings, a franchise based team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Meanwhile, the third-edition of PSL will kick off from February 22 at Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The reigning champions Peshawar Zalmi will take on fresh franchise Multan Sultans in the first match of the tournament.
The 29-year-old Imad has represented Pakistan in the shorter formats of the game. Since making his debut, Imad has played 30 One-day Internationals and 25 Twenty20 Internationals and has impressed an all-rounder. He comes in handy with the bat in the middle-order and is economical with the ball.

Pakistan’s future skipper:
Sethi was recently present at the unveiling of the Pakistan Super League Trophy at Dubai.
Speaking to the media, Najam Sethi expressed his desire to see Imad leading the Pakistan team.
“Imad Wasim is in my eye as somebody who can lead Pakistan in future,” Sethi admitted.
However, current skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has led this young Pakistan team superbly. Last year (2017), they won the ICC Champions Trophy beating arch-rivals India in England. Many former cricketers batted for Sarfraz to lead this team at least for two-three years.

Sethi was in full praise of McCullum:
Further, Sethi was in full praise of former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum. Also, he feels McCullum will be instrumental to convince the Kiwi side to visit Pakistan.
“Brendon is as fit as ever and I tell you he won’t let anyone off the hook when he is on the field. It is good to have a representation from New Zealand and I hope the New Zealand team will come over and play a match or two in Lahore,” said Sethi.
“And I am sure Brendon will help me persuade them [New Zealand],” he added.
Meanwhile, McCullum will lead Lahore Qalandars in the t20 tournament starting tomorrow.
Previously, Sethi confirmed that West Indies will tour Pakistan Pakistan towards the end of March for a three-match T20I series in Lahore.
