Well, yet another series and yet again the name of Virat Kohli is on the headlines ahead of the series opener. Much to the same like any other opposition, the New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson also feels that Virat Kohli is the major threat going into the first ODI of the game. He feels that it is all about how they tackle him.

Kane Williamson showered high praises for Indian National Team skipper. Williamson quoted that he has got great respect to Virat Kohli for his work ethics and brilliant display of batting across the formats.

He believes that the series is more about how New Zealand bowlers tackle Virat Kohli. Williamson is wary of the impact that Kohli makes for the Indian side, especially, while chasing.  The Kiwis skipper revealed that he is one of the admirers of the Indian captain.

Virat Kohli is always a challenge to come against – Kane Williamson

“Someone like Virat is certainly a player I admire and enjoy watching and he’s pushing the boundaries of the game so that’s brilliant. He’s a respectful guy and I’ve known him for a very long time but as a player, obviously, word class and our focus is more about that and his cricketing ability and how we can combat him as best as we can,” Williamson said.

‘He’s always a challenge to come up against and is someone who is most admired in terms of how he goes about his cricket and he’s formidable in his run scoring so he’s definitely a player of note to try to shut down,” Kane Williamson added while speaking to the reporters in the press conference on the eve of the 1st ODI at Napier.

As Kane said, the performance of Virat Kohli will matter a lot in the upcoming bilateral series. During the course, they need to wary about the rest of the Indian batsmen, who can wreak havoc on their day.
