West Indies’ veteran cricketer Chris Gayle is arguably one of the most experienced players, especially in white-ball cricket. Chris Gayle has participated in various T20 leagues, creating a significant impact on all the franchises through his monstrous hitting. With the T10 format gradually shaping up to become a big thing, the Jamaican wants it to be elevated to the Olympics.

With over 400 matches in the T20 format, Chris Gayle is not only one of the most experienced players but also the highest run-getter in the version. The southpaw has 13584 runs in 411 fixtures at 38.26 alongside 22 centuries and 85 half-centuries. Gayle, who is preparing himself to participate in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, also took part in Ultimate Kricket Challenge (UKC), yet another tournament that has a new format.

Chris Gayle highlighted that having T10 within the Olympics would be something massive for the sport and recommended the United States a venue to stage T10 cricket. The 41-year old understands that most people do not recognize the States for cricket; however, they could promote the sport more by hosting T10. Gayle feels that it can also help generate revenues.

“I would absolutely love to see T10 within the Olympics. It would be something huge for the sport from a general point of view. I also think T10 can be held within the United States since it’s a big platform. I think most people don’t recognize the States for cricket, but T10 is very much suitable for the USA and I believe it can help generate bigger revenues as well,” Gayle said as quoted by Times of India.
