Experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set to join the Bangladesh side ahead of the must-win clash.

It will be a huge morale booster for the Bangladesh team ahead of the virtual semi-final clash against Sri Lanka on Friday.

Meanwhile, Shakib has fully recovered from the finger injury he sustained during the tri-series at home early this year. Also, Shakib missed the Tests and T20I series against Sri Lanka at home due to the injury.

However, he is likely to feature in Bangladesh’s next fixture against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, both teams have registered just one win from three games, and the winner of tomorrow’s game would face India in the finals on Sunday (March 18).

Sri Lanka won the first contest against India but then went on to lose to Bangladesh and India in their next two matches.

Bangladesh started with a defeat against India but came back to record the fourth-highest run chase against Sri Lanka and seal a win. They, however, lost against India yesterday (March 14) and now finds themselves in a tricky position.

Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka in the last time they had faced each other. The Tigers chased down a record target of 215 posted by Sri Lanka. Bangladesh had played a good brand of cricket, although their bowlers have failed to make a mark.

However, Bangladesh will want him to continue his form if they want to meet India in the final. The final of the tournament will take place on March 18 in Colombo.
