Niroshan Dickwella Not Included in the Nidahas Trophy Squad

Sri Lanka has named their squad for the Nidahas Trophy scheduled to begin in 5 day’s time. Wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella has been excluded from the squad. Instead, Kusal Perera will take up the job of the wicket-keeper. The 15 member squad was announced on Wednesday. Dinesh Chandimal will lead Sri Lanka in the absence of Angelo Mathews.
Fast bowler Suranga Lakmal has been named as the vice-captain of the team. Asitha Fernando, Jeffrey Vandersay, Lahiru Kumara and Sadeera Samarawickrama were also not part of the team. However, they were part of the preliminary 20 probable for the series.
India will start as overwhelming favourites. They have been in some exceptional form in the limited overs format and won both ODI and T20I series in the Rainbow Nation. Sri Lanka might give them a scare or two on their day and so do Bangladesh. But on paper, the Men in Blue are way ahead of these two teams, and it will take some doing from those teams to topple India.
