The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League [IPL] has reached its halfway mark and so far, the fast bowlers have ruled the roost in the competetion.

The likes of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Jofra Archer and many others have not only spearheaded their respective sides’ bowling unit but have also cranked up serious pace.

Here’s a look at top 5 bowlers who have clocked 150 KMPH+ most times in IPL 2020:

James Pattinson – 1

James Pattinson has proved to be a great purchase for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL. Pattinson, who came in as a replacement for ace fast bowler, Lasith Malinga, has formed an ideal foil to the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult to add more potency to the pace-bowling department.

Pattinson has thus far claimed nine wickets in seven games at an average of 24 and a strike-rate of 17.44. The Aussie has also cranked up the speed-o-meter, and is only the Mumbai Indians fast bowler in excess of 150. His fastest delivery in this IPL has been 150.55 km/h.

Pat Cummins – 1

The most expensive foreign recruit in the history of the IPL, Pat Cummins hasn’t had the best of tournaments thus far.

Cummins has thus far managed to claim just two wickets in seven games at an average of 111 and an economy of 8.54. He, however, has been cranking up pace consistently, the fastest of them being the 151.70 km/h bolter.

Kagiso Rabada – 1

A great combination of pace and accuracy, Kagiso Rabada has been the best fast bowler in the Dream11 IPL thus far.

Besides claiming 18 wickets in just 8 games at an average of 13.39 and an economy of 7.61, Rabada has cranked up extreme pace, the fastest of which has come at a speed of 150.99 km/h.

Jofra Archer – 15

Jofra Archer has once again impinged himself as one of the fastest bowlers to have ever graced the IPL. The Rajasthan Royals pace-bowling spearhead has cranked up speed in excess of 150 on a consistent basis.

To be precise, the Barbados-born English bolter has breached the 150 km/h mark on as many as 15 occasions in the ongoing IPL, with the highest speed being 153.62 km/h. And, not only has he cranked up pace, Archer has consistently chipped-in with wickets. In 8 games, Jofra Archer has thus far claimed 12 wickets at an average of 17.5 and an economy rate of 6.56.

Anrich Nortje – 16

Anrich Nortje, South African bowler, has set the stage on fire in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Not only has he chipped-in with wickets on a consistent basis besides forming a formidable fast bowling pair with compatriot, Kagiso Rabada, he has done that with extreme pace and sustained hostility.

On Wednesday, Anrich Nortje once again displayed his extreme pace as he broke Dale Steyn’s record of the fastest delivery bowled in the history of the IPL [154.40 km/h]. Nortje delivered a 156.22 km/h thunderbolt to Jos Buttler and he followed it up with yet another pacy delivery of 155.1 km/h to castle the English swashbuckler.

Overall, Nortje has breached the 150 km/h mark on a record 16 times this IPL season, and what is more incredible is the fact that three of the fastest deliveries ever bowled in the history of the competition are all credited in the name of the tearaway South African bowler.
