PAK vs NZ: WATCH - Imad Wasim Calls Babar Azam Best Player In The World After His Stellar Century Against New Zealand

Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim lauded his skipper Babar Azam after his sensational hundred in the second T20I against New Zealand. He said that he has seen many innings but this was at the top of the line in his opinion.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam played a sensational innings in the second T20I against New Zealand as he smashed his 4th century in the T20I and helped his side win the game to go 2-0 up in the series. The batter opened the innings and gave his team a fine start with Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 50.

Babar batted with a strike rate of 174.14 and smashed 11 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. He was also awarded Player of the Match for his terrific knock. Notably, he failed to get going in the first game as he scored just 9 runs.

After the game, Imad Wasim interviewed Babar Azam and lauded him for his terrific knock. He said that despite the way the wicket holding up, he played brilliantly. He said:

“I have seen many innings but this was at the top of the line in my opinion, especially the way he [Babar] carried on after we lost three wickets. The wicket was holding as well. But the way he played was simply brilliant. There’s no doubt that he’s the best player in the world.”

Notably, of late, it was reported that there have been few differences between Babar and Imad. It is learned that the differences arose when Karachi Kings handed the leadership of their team in PSL to the current Pakistan skipper. The all-rounder was disappointed with the management and Babar as well for the lack of trust in him.

PAK vs NZ: “I am very happy to perform in this match,” says Babar Azam

Babar Azam also opened up about this innings and said that he was happy to perform and credited his team for winning two back-to-back games in the series. He said:

“I am very happy to perform in this match. I had two good partnerships and then our bowling was once again excellent. We have got experienced and exciting young bowlers who gave us back-to-back wins.”

The third T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played on Monday (17th April) in Lahore. The hosts would be looking to seal the series in the third game itself.
