Australia’s offspinner Nathan Lyon has created an astounding record in red ball version of the game. Lyon has bowled more than 20,000 balls in Test cricket without overstepping the popping crease. Thus, he has been consistent and has reaped fruits for his discipline. Generally, the spinners are not expected to bowl a no-ball as they have a short run-up as compared to a fast bowler.
Therefore, Lyon has done a fine job. In fact, a lot of credit goes to Lyon’s practice. The off-spinner must have maintained the same kind of discipline in his net sessions and thus he hasn’t overstepped the line even on one occasion, which is a remarkable feat.

Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon has been a prolific performer for the Australian side. He had also scalped four wickets in the first innings of the second Test match against Pakistan. Lyon has also taken two wickets in the second dig. In fact, the off-spinner had scalped a total of 41 wickets collectively in the six Test matches against India and Bangladesh in 2017.
On the other hand, Australia has their backs against the wall against Pakistan in the second innings. The hosts are currently leading by 369 runs and are 232-4 after the first session of the day’s play.

Sarfraz Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman had played a good knock of 94 to help their team post a total of 282 runs in the first essay. However, Australia had managed only 145 runs in the first innings. Thus, Australia was let down by their batsmen.
The first Test match between them had ended in a stalemate as Australia showed the resistance on the final day. Usman Khawaja and Tim Paine were able to dodge the defeat as both of them played gutsy knocks.
