It looks like India have got their next Mithali Raj or perhaps their first Pari Sharma. The seven-year old child has become an internet sensation after a clip of her impeccable timing with the bat went viral. In the video, Pari Sharma could be seen showing stunning footwork as she dispatches the ball both on the offside and leg side.
As soon as the video was uploaded on Twitter, not only the fans but also cricketers – past and present – could not stop themselves from lavishing praise on the young girl. Former England skippers Nasser Hussain, Michael Vaughan and Mike Atherton led the wishes from ex-cricketers.
Among present ones, West Indies batting star Shai Hope and England women team’s star Alexandra Hartley were the ones who were mighty impressed by Pari Sharma’s batting exploits.
“This is a great video!! For so many different reasons….,” wrote Nasser Hussain.

Well, if Pari Sharma continues to bat in the same manner, it would not be long before she makes it big in the game. Last year, Shafali Verma made her India debut as a 15-year old and became a household name immediately. She broke batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record and became the youngest player to score a half-century in international cricket. She went on to star in this year’s T20 World Cup and helped India make it to the final for the very first time.
