Pakistan cricket team is on an impressive run in the limited overs format in the last 12 months. Pakistan won the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year and then rammed the Sri Lankan side in the limited overs format as they whitewashed the Lankan lions in the five match ODI series and three match T20 series. However, they lost the two match Test series 2-0.

The PCB is now preparing for the upcoming tough tour of New Zealand early next year and will most likely announce the squad for the tour this week. However, news is not positive for veteran wicket keeper batsman Kamran Akmal as reports suggest that no more chances will be given to right handed batsman.

The only change expected in the squad will be the return of Azhar Ali who was out of the limited over squad against Sri Lanka due to an injury. Ahmed Shehzad who failed in the recent series against Sri Lanka will most likely make the cut because of his impressive performance in the semi final of the National T20 Cup.

Junaid Khan is expected to replace Usman Khan Shenwari who has been ruled out of action due to a back injury.
