PSL 2018: Tamim Iqbal to miss Eliminator two against Karachi Kings in Lahore

Bangladesh recruits Tamim Iqbal has played a significant role in Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi. However, the Darren Sammy-led side had to face a massive blow owing to the absence of the left-handed batsman.
The 29-year-old has been part of Zalmi camp and went on to play the crucial role for the defending champions of the domestic professional Twenty20 league.
In his six outing so far for Zalmi, Iqbal amassed 161 runs at an average of 32.20. In between, he also served his national side Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka.
Erractic with the bat, Iqbal’s top score of 39 came against Islamabad United which has already qualified for the grand finale of the third edition of PSL.
Iqbal is bound to miss the all-important clash against Karachi Kings on Wednesday (March 22).
Earlier, after featuring in five outings for the Zalmi team Iqbal returned to Bangladesh for Tri-series on the Sri Lankan shores.

Iqbal made his return in the thrilling eliminator one against Quetta Gladiators on Tuesday. He smashed 29-ball 27 runs before picking the knee injury.
Zalmi registered one-run victory even after Anwar Ali’s heroics in the final over sent down by Liam Dawson.
The media manager for Peshawar Zalmi Abdul Ghaffar tweeted Iqbal will fly to Bangkok for the medical attention. The left-handed batter has coupled a body blow against Sarfraz Ahmed-led Gladiators at Gaddafi Stadium.
Moreover, Ghaffar, who works with Dawn maintained Tamim Iqbal could return for the grand finale if Zalmi eases past Kings in the Eliminator.

So far, Zalmi has claimed six wins in 11 outings which includes five in 10 league stage fixtures. Earlier, the intermittent rain in the day has kept fingers crossed. However, the meteorological department believes the match is possible in the evening.
