Rajan Nayer of Zimbabwe Charged Under ICC Anti-Corruption Code

Zimbabwe ex-cricket official; Rajan Nayer has been charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC) with three counts of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The Treasurer and Marketing Director of the Harare Metropolitan Cricket Association has also been provisionally suspended and has been charged with the three following offences under the code with immediate effect

Article 2.1.1 being party to an effort to fix or contrive or otherwise influence improperly the result, progress, conduct or other aspects of an International match or matches

Article 2.1.3 offering the player US $30,000 to fix or contrive or otherwise influence the result, progress, conduct or other aspects of an International match or matches improperly

Article 2.1.4 directly solicited, induced, enticed or encouraged a player to breach Article 2.1.1. Nayer has a total of 14 days from January 16, 2018, to give a response to the charges against him. There won’t be any further comments made by either the ICC nor the Zimbabwe cricket for now.
