Shakib Al Hasan has played for Rangpur Riders in previous seasons; thus, will have a fair idea about the team atmosphere. However, the only change is that of the team owners. The all-rounder will also replace Mashrafe Mortaza as the team’s icon player and that probably means, Mortaza will have to look out for a new franchise in the upcoming season.

Rangpur Riders will pin their hopes on Shakib Al Hasan, who had a dream run in the World Cup. The top-ranked ODI all-rounder became the first cricketer to score 600+ runs and claim 10+ wickets in one edition of the tournament. He will add a lot of value to the team with his ability to contribute to all the departments. Shakib has almost 1500 runs in the BPL and is the only bowler to pick more than 100 wickets in the competition.

The upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League will start from December 6.
