Akshath Reddy knocks 161:

Anmolpreet Singh, who recently bagged the IPL deal knocked 85 runs to his name in the first innings. Meanwhile, Mandeep Singh and Gurkeerat Mann Singh also played brilliantly.

In second innings, it was Akshath Reddy for Hyderabad, who scored a stunning 161 to his name. His incredible knock helped Hyderabad to put a massive target on the board for Punjab.

In reply to the chase, none of the Punjab batsmen looked like dealing Hyderabad bowlers. However, Gill stood tall in the middle to keep them in the hunt and almost secured a victory. Just when things look set for Punjab, Siraj bowled brilliant to give Hyderabad a last laugh.

Gill continued his sublime form this Ranji Trophy season, scoring 148 off just 154 balls, as Punjab almost overhauled the 338-run target set by Hyderabad.

When Gill was dismissed, Punjab still needed another 48 to win with the score of 290/5. But Hyderabad paceman Mohammed Siraj’s 4/71 ensured that Punjab ended on 324/8 as home side walked away with three points for securing the first innings lead.
