India’s tour of New Zealand has been evenly balanced till now. India clean-swept the Kiwis in the T20 series 5-0, to become the first team to do so. The Black Caps bounced back in style to clinch ODI series 3-0.

India and New Zealand will now compete in the Tests to determine the ultimate winner as the tour comes to a close.

The moment took place in the fourth over on Day 2 of the 1st Test. Tim Southee came up with a lethal inswinger. The ball started at the middle and then turned towards the off stump. Ashwin remained rooted to the crease, with no foot movement and allowed the ball to swing past the outside edge and knock his stumps off.

Southee later dismissed Mohammed Shami and finished with figures of four for 39 as India were bundled out for 165 in the first innings.

India had a poor show with the bat and were bowled out after seven innings in a Test match. Their last all-out innings came in August 2019 at Kingston against the West Indies. This was also their first all-out innings with less than 200 against New Zealand since 2002 at Hamilton (99 all out).
