Ravichandran Ashwin Hails Virat Kohli For Collecting Major ICC Awards

It was one of those good days for Virat Kohli, who would list it on top of his achievements in his cricketing career. He has bagged all the three major honours in the recently-concluded annual award function. Besides that, he was also named on quite a few prestigious lists as well. Meanwhile, his good friend, Ravichandran Ashwin lauds his skipper.

He became the first player in history to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year, the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year awards following an extraordinary 2018.

Earlier, he found a place on the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2018, ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year 2018 as well as ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2018 Virat Kohli became the first cricketer ever to win all three honours in the same calendar year.

Kohli scored 1,322 runs at an average of 55.08 in 13 Tests with five centuries during the calendar year while in 14 ODIs he amassed 1202 runs at an astonishing average of 133.55 with six centuries.

He also scored 211 runs in 10 T20Is. In fact, he missed out few games owing to rest, where he would have cracked a few more centuries by going with his form.

On the work front:

Currently, Virat Kohli is assigned to lead the Indian  National Cricket Team against New Zealand in the 5-match ODI series. It will be followed by the 3-match T20I series before travelling back home to lock horns against Australia.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin has got no International assignments any sooner. Currently, BCCI restricted him to play only Test format of the game. He will be back in the action when Indian Premier League 2019 gets underway.
