Ravichandran Ashwin Is India's No 1 Spinner In Sub-Continent - Harsha Bhogle

Recently, in an interview with Cricbuzz, Ravi Shastri quoted that Kuldeep Yadav is their number one bowler in the overseas Test, as Ravichandran Ashwin is more prone to injuries. Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle highlights the term overseas, as he believes that Ashwin is the number one bowler by a fair margin in the sub-continent Test matches.

Ashwin was one of the chief contributors to India’s success in the home Test season. He has bagged astounding numbers during the season to make things fall in place for the team. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has got a lot of limelight after his performance in Sydney Test.

Kuldeep Yadav can be preferred in overseas:

Harsha Bhogle agrees to Ravi Shastri’s words saying that Kuldeep Yadav can be preferred option in overseas series. He believes that India got three quality fast bowlers and Kuldeep can bring the required variety to the attack.

Further, he believes that Kuldeep performed in only one game while Ashwin showed consistency in a couple of games. He added that Ravi Shastri might have answered the question regarding the overseas Test. Bhogle also termed that Ashwin is the best spinner in Asian conditions by a long margin.

”I like the fact that Shastri said it for the overseas Test matches. In overseas, you will be playing Three best Seamers. You want wicket-taking bowler, you pick Kuldeep Yadav with three fast bowlers bowling well. Even though the sample size is small. Kuldeep Yadav has done well in one Test match. He is a wonderful bowler but the sample size is only one Test match,” Harsha Bhogle said to Cricbuzz.

”Reckoning same, Ashwin bowled beautifully in Birmingham and Adelaide. When someone took 340 wickets in Test, you don’t say good-bye that soon. I think Ashwin is still your number one Test bowler by a long distance. In Indian conditions, Ashwin is your number one bowler by a long margin for sure,” Harsha Bhogle inferred.

Well, as Harsha Bhole said, the presence of Ravichandran Ashwin in Indian conditions has always been a fruitful one. He already bagged quite a few records in his kitty. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav is still fresh in the longer version of the game.
