Ricky Ponting Reveals His Pick For The Best Bowler In World

As Jasprit Bumrah and Pat Cummins gear up to go head-to-head in the upcoming ODI series between India and Australia, legendary batsman Ricky has revealed his pick between the two as the best fast bowler in the world at the moment. Jasprit Bumrah and Pat Cummins have indeed left behind their contemporaries like Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult and Jofra Archer and are now regarded as the best in the world.
While Jasprit Bumrah had a stunning 2018-19 season during which he picked up five-wickets hauls in Tests in England, Australia, West Indies and South Africa, he missed the second half of the last year due to injury. He recently returned to action against Sri Lanka and will be keen to regain his best form against Australia. He is also the number one ODI bowler in the world right now.

Pat Cummins, on the other hand, finished 2019 as the highest wicket-taker in Tests, helping Australia retain the Ashes and whitewash Pakistan and New Zealand at home. He is currently the top-ranked Test bowler in the world. The result of the series between India and Australia could depend a lot on how Bumrah and Cummins perform.

While the jury is still out over who is the better between Bumrah and Cummins, Ricky Ponting seems to have made his mind. The former Australia picked his compatriot Cummins over Bumrah as the best pacer in the world. Ricky Ponting revealed his pick while answering to a question from one of his followers on Twitter.
“I think what Pat Cummins has done over the last 12 months has him clearly the best fast bowler in the world,” wrote Ricky Ponting.

Meanwhile, India and Australia will resume their rivalry in ODIs on Tuesday (January 14) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
