Twitter Erupts After Rishabh Pant Smashes A 73-Ball 103 Against Australia A

Rishabh Pant, on Saturday, once again displayed just why he is one of the most-highly rated cricketers of the current era. Having been dropped from the white-ball set-up and being forced to fight for his place for the first-choice wicketkeeper-slot in the Test team, the second practice game between India and Australia A was the last chance for the southpaw to cement his place and leapfrog Wriddhiman Saha in the Test team for the series against Australia and, boy didn’t he cashed-in on the opportunity with disdain.
After having managed a mere 5 in the first innings, Pant unleashed his beast moniker in the second innings as he hammered the Australian A bowlers to all corners of the Sydney Cricket Ground during his unbeaten 73-ball 104- an innings which included nine fours and six monstrous innings.
It was a typical Pant innings that was glittered ferocious square-cuts, disdainful hook shots, authoritative lofted drives and of-course numerous slog sweeps.
Rishabh Pant reached his half-century in a mere 43 deliveries, and he did that with a typical square-cut past backward point. The southpaw turned even more dangerous post his 50 and Jack Wildermuth and Mitchell Swepson were the ones who suffered the most. Pant was on 81 when the last over of the day commenced. The next six balls resulted in in- 4,4,6,4 and four as he completed his second FC century in a mere 73 balls. And, by doing that, he may have just ended the debate around the wicketkeeper’s slot.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Rishabh Pant’s onslaught-

The legend of Rishabh Pant continues to grow in Australia. Smashes 22 runs off the last 5 balls (4, 4, 6, 4, 4 to go from 81 to 103) of the day to bring up a rather remarkable century. “Only Gilchrist could have done that,” say those who stayed back at the @scg #AUSvIND #AusAvIND pic.twitter.com/tyOZiwqKPX

Rishabh Pant is seriously a gun talent, ending the day for India with 22 runs in final over and completed his century in just 73 balls. He's absolute gold hitter of the cricket ball while being in form.

In reply of Saha congratulating Kohli for wedding anniversary, Rishabh Pant giving fight with a 73-ball hundred for wicket-keeping spot.

73-ball ton for Rishabh Pant. Should Pant play ahead of Saha in the Adelaide Test? Pant has a Test ton at SCG in 2018-19. Saha is a world class ‘keeper & a good batsman. Interesting selection dilemma to have. Good ton from Vihari too. Gill played well in both the innings too
